XCCR Main body

XCCR Main body

Main body consist of the robust Canister made of a marine grade hard anodised aluminum with teflon coating or optionally made of Delrin.

The Canister has a mounted bottom, which is designed simultaneously as a spacer with a water trap. The bottom is replaceable if damaged.

Canister is equipped with the industry unique Quick Bayonet Lock for easy, fast and safe mounting the X-head. Canister is also equipped with the Backplate Adapter with compact multi-outlet gas manifolds and two Quick Release Fasteners for easy attaching and replacing the oxygen and diluent cylinders.The Quick Release Fasteners provide very easy and secure attaching of the cylinders to the canister.

Radial Scrubber

The Radial Scrubber has capacity 3.2 kg of soda lime with minimal operating time up to 6 hours even in extreme conditions like cold water (4°C) and depths over 100m.

The XCCR scrubber consist of the finely perforated concentrical tubes made of stainless steel with the robust bottom and top lid made of Delrin. The white top ring reinforces and protects the outer perforated tube.

The Top lid is equipped with and an easy to use bayonet lock and has a self-packing feature – the spring loaded plate ensuring sustained compression of the soda lime to protect against gas channeling (bypassing the soda lime).

The top lid has integrated radial handle for easy and safe removal of the scrubber from the Canister

X-Head & electronics

The X-head is the heart of the XCCR, which contains the control electronics, the solenoid valve for controlled dosing of oxygen, two high-pressure sensors, the removable Cartridge carrying three oxygen sensors and one CO2 sensor, two replaceable Li-Ion batteries 18650, watertight connectors for connection of external computers as well as hose connectors with a unique Click-Lock bayonet for easy and fast connection of the breathing hoses.

The Control electronics (Shearwater SOLO board) is built in the hermetic compartment inside the head. The SOLO board uses ppO2 readings from
three O2 sensors to autonomously maintain the ppO2 in the breathing loop in accordance with the current chosen setpoint.

Breathing Loop and Counterlungs

Counterlungs

The XCCR is standardly equipped with Back-mounted Counterlungs made as the separated inhalation and exhalation counterlungs connected all in one piece by a central support plate.

T-piece

The low-pro f led T-pieces are used to connect the breathing hoses to the Counterlungs. The T-pieces are made of Delrin and are connected to the Counterlungs via a socket and fastened by a nut with trapezoidal thread resistant to damage. T-pieces attached to the Counterlungs may still rotate the full 360° range.

MAVs – manual adding valves

For adding diluent or oxygen into the loop, the Counterlungs are equipped with standalone manual adding valves (MAVs), connected via a LP hose leading from the appropriate manifold to the lateral inlet on the T-pieces at the counterlung.

BOV Shrimp – Bail-Out Valve (BOV)

BOV Shrimp a Bail-out Valve with a 2nd stage regulator incorporated into the mouthpiece with the ability of supplying the diver with open circuit breathing gas when needed. The BOV Shrimp is a standard part of the XCCR loop.

The CC/OC valve allows to easily and fast switch between the close circuit (the CC mode)
and the open circuit (OC mode) by one hand. It is operated by rotating the knob on the
front of the BOV.
